Intilaaqah Egypt held its first local award on the 15th January 2007. The ceremony was attended by a significant number of VIPs and stakeholder including the Minister of Social Solidarity Mr. Ali Moselhy. His Excellency gave an empowering speech, which moved all invitees. He also praised Shell for sponsoring this youth Programme and encouraged everyone to keep this progress going. The award had five main categories: Best business, Best business Idea, Best business plan, Best promising business and Best business from Non-Intilaaqah Graduates. Five winners from those categories won the first five prizes (one LE 10,000 and Four LE 5,000) while others won recognition prizes. All participants showed an outstanding performance and self-confident during their presentation which led to an unexpected announcement by the chairman, to award each of the 20 applicants with LE 1,000 as token of recognition and support. This marks an optimistic start for Intilaaqah Programme in Egypt for 2007 and sets a benchmark for the outstanding standards expected from both the participants and the Programme team in Egypt. |
