The art of requesting an opportunity
Many people are not well versed in the skills of pursuing opportunities. Your CV and personal interview are your first steps to get the job. This section will offer an overview of the basic skills you need to acquire before applying for a job.
Curriculum Vital (C.V)
It consists usually of five main sections:
- Personal details
- Academic background
- Experience
- Personal skills
- Hobbies
1st section: Personal details
- Full Name
- Date of birth
- Address
- Telephone number
- E-Mail
- Mobile Number
2nd section: Academic Background
- Academic details listed in reverse order starting with the most recent.
- Training courses attended in a reverse chronological order starting with the most recent.
- Some important studies
3rd section : Previous Experience:
- To be written also in reverse chronological order and to include date from ….to…./ name of the company that you have joined, your position in addition to your responsibilities.
- If you don’t have previous experience than write your training history (summer training)
4th Section: Skills
- Write in bullet pointys your skills, such as computer skills, typing, languages, etc.
5th Section: Hobbies
- Such as reading, swimming..etc.
Useful Tips:
- Use a clear font, ideally 10/12 size
- Make headings in bold
- Avoid using long paragraphs and sentences.
- No misspellings or grammatical errors.
- It has to be specified and not more than two pages
- Don’t mention any expected salary in your CV, unless it is requested from the company you are applying for
- Be honest in describing your skills.
- Use a simplified template to write your CV and don’t use too many decorations and frames.
- Always keep your CV updated.
