Intilaaqah Egypt is a community programme sponsored mainly by Shell Egypt with the objective of increasing the interest of young people in entrepreneurial opportunities. It offers unemployed youths training, mentoring, encouragement and support to help them become the entrepreneurs of the future

Intilaaqah was officially launched in Egypt on the 1st of January 2004, to give support for Small and Medium Enterprises SME's as part of Shell's overall commitment to promote long-term sustainable economic development in Egypt.

History (Global)

LiveWIRE is originally an international programme developed by Shell to support youth development specifically to help young people to become interested in setting up their own businesses and in working for themselves. Originally launched in UK in 1982, it is one of Shell's flagship community investment programmes with a global roll out aimed at contributing towards a buoyant economy and a community of more fulfilled individuals. LiveWIRE International programme is now running in Brunei, Australia , Argentina , Abu Dhabi , Brazil , Chile , United Kingdom , Guam , Hong Kong , Hungary , Iran , Mauritius , Netherlands , Nigeria , Oman , Pakistan , Republic of Ireland , Romania , Singapore , Sri Lanka, South Africa, Egypt and Qatar.

1983 Live WIRE expanded to rest of Scotland & Northern Ireland

Since this time the programme was introduced into the Arab region with the name of INTILAAQAH (which translates into “high speed take off' in Arabic). It was launched in Abu Dhabi and Egypt in 2004 then Qatar in 2006. Other Arab countries, such as Libya, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Syria are in the process of launching the programme.
