Intilaaqah Egypt has considerably expanded in size and scope, achieving a significant milestone in March by accessing the governorate of al-Menya in southern Egypt for the first time.
The chairman of Shell Companies in Egypt, Zainul Rahim, and the Intilaaqah team visited the governorate to attend the graduation ceremony of the first batch of Intilaaqah graduates on 29th March. He met with the governor of al-Menya, Mr. Fouad Saad El-Din, who hosted the entire ceremony and exchanged views on how to make the programme an effective tool of enterprise training for young people.
Mr. Rahim explained the rational behind Shell’s support for such activities, indicating that capacity building was a major component of the company’s social investment programme, he added that Shell was committed to investing in a number of community initiatives to meet some of the most pressing needs of the Egyptian society.
On his part, the governor was quite enthused by tthe programme and appreciated Shell’s support for such activities. He also offered to support the programme in whatever was possible to promote entrepreneurial interest among the young people of Al-Menya.
